The Cuban was born Julio Cesar Andujar in New York City to a Cuban mother and Spanish father who was raised in Havana, Cuba. The Cuban has strong ties to Cuba's democratic party through family members and especially his grandfather, Carlos Marquez Sterling. Sterling, president of the constitutional congress, authored the Cuban constitution of 1940 and was Cuba's last democratic candidate before Castro. Ironicly he also taught the dictator political science and economics at the University of Havana. These ties give this artist more than a desire to make people dance and produce records, but to bring awareness and eventually change the Cuban political situation.

The Cuban is a music producer who has spent most of his life in San Diego and in Hollywood producing for Latin rappers Mellow Man Ace and his brother Sen Dogg of Cypress Hill. The three formed an all Cuban hard-core rap group The Reyes Brothers who performed at the Whisky , The Roxy, and many other Southland venues. The Cuban's interest in Drum and Bass music brought many original, live, underground performances throughout the L.A. Jungle and party scene. The Cuban performed alongside American and European producer/DJ's such as Dom & Roland, the Usual Suspects, AK1200 , Cypress Hill , A Perfect Combination, Limp Bizkit, Black Moon , Bahamadia , Panacea , Xzibit , Prince Whippa Whip and more. After problems receiving his payment for the music production and work he had done for Ace and the Reyes Brothers and strong disagreements with Interscope Records head Fred Durst the Cuban left Hollywood in frustration to bring his favorite dwelling place and the corporate music industry a taste of what it deserves.

The Cuban has released three full length Drum&Bass albums Real Time (CubanCoalitionRecordings) , Death in Passing (CCR) and Paraphernalia (WeAreOne Records) which are in circulation with well over 10,000 copies in California alone. All this proudly with no corporate support. The Cuban encourages piracy of his music making it impossible to tell how far or how many have spread.
